If you’re a “dreams come true” or “happily ever after” bride 2 be… have I got some BIG news for you! Alfred Angelo, a top family owned and operated bridal manufacturer 80 years in the making, has recently joined forces with the darlings at Disney to create a line of fairy tale dresses for fairy tale brides.
Debuting this past weekend at Chicago’s Bridal Market, this line of bridal gowns will feature designs inspired by several of the Disney’s most sought after princesses. According to glamour.com, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White and Tiana are all topping the list of Angelo’s latest and greatest garments and will feature everything from extra dazzle to lots and lots of ooh la la!
The wedding dresses will be available in sizes 0 to 30W and are reasonably priced anywhere from $599 to $1,199! So, if you’re a bride looking to marry your Prince Charming in a dress fit for Disney… I suppose today’s your lucky day! Here’s a sneak peak…

I was a journalism major in college, and after four years of studying at Indiana University, people still questioned why. You see, I’ve never actually been a big fan of the news – blasphemy for a journalist, right? Wrong. I just wanted to make the news more positive, as it always seems to be so negative: Stocks drop… again. Wall Street’s burning. You’re all broke. If you don’t starve to death, here are ten natural disasters that will get you. A little girl’s dog died. Someone stole a box of kittens, etc. It just never seems to leave me with the warm and fuzzies.
So, I like to remember what a former professor always preached. The news needs to report the EXTRAordinary, and because there is more good in the world than bad, it tends to be swayed in the “bad” direction. (At least that’s what I tell myself :))
Well, poo poo to that! I like good news! That is why I was so happy to read the following story on PRWeb.com. Today is Veteran’s day, and in order to properly honor our troops, wedding gown designer, Alfred Angelo, has teamed up with Operation Homefront to give away gowns to deserving military brides and wives! And can I just say, that I love love love this?!? To date, there have been over 480 dresses given to deserving military brides-to-be all over the U.S.
Savannah, Georgia was one such community to take part in such a wonderful cause, where many brides - stationed at Ft. Stewart base – were able to pluck out their fairytale frock for free!
Amanda Sheronas, Director of PR for Alfred Angelo was quoted saying, “We are proud that Alfred Angelo has been able to bring so much joy and happiness to the military community in the face of on-going deployments and a struggling economy.”
Amen, sister… amen.
Every bride deserves the best, and it makes my heart smile to see people coming together to make this happen. I salute all the military brides-to-be (and all military men and women for that matter) and Alfred Angelo for making this Veteran’s day one that’s filled with just a few more smiles! Job (very well) done!

I have to be honest. The first thing I did after (okay, okay even before) saying “YES” to my Mister was think about which wedding dress would have the unmistakable pleasure of escorting me around all day – hehe! Like a little girl playing dress up, there was simply something magical that transpired when I stepped into each and every dress. No matter what anyone says, you truly feel like a princess for a day, and no matter how many you try on, it never seems to get old. So, please, do yourself a favor and ENJOY it.
Unfortunately, while I’m telling all you lovely ladies to enjoy it; some brides will undeniably start to feel a little anxious and slightly overwhelmed. No worries, my dears! If anything, find solace in the fact that you are not alone! Sooooo many brides feel the exact same way, which is why it’s important to keep the following two things in mind…
The first is to go about dress shopping the same way you go about making any other decision that ends well. Stay calm, weigh the options, go with your gut and above everything else, have fun! The second (and most important tip) is always always ALWAYS remember the man who’ll be waiting for you at the other end loves you for who you are, and if he’s anything like my dude, probably could care less if you came down in a spray painted white sack… because at the end of the day, you’ll be his Mrs. and he’ll be your Mr.
With those two things in mind, something else to consider before hitting the stores is what suites your body the best. Because you know what looks good and what doesn’t, you can help keep anxiety at bay by making it clear to the consultant which shapes flatter you most. # 1: The Ball Gown

# 5: The Sheath

- Most Flattering On: Due to its curve hugging construction, the sheath dress is a fabulous choice for tall, slim women as well as petite cuties. Women with narrow shoulders and wide hips should avoid the sheath, dependent upon the weight and drape of the fabric.
